Justworks is a leading provider of cloud-based Human Resource services, designed to help small and mid-sized businesses manage their employee information. Founded in 2012 by Isaac Oates, Justworks mission is to make employment in the 21st Century simple for employers and employees alike. It was started as an alternative option to traditional payroll providers that charged expensive fees or software systems that required IT departments to manage them. Since then, its feature lineup has grown significantly, now providing comprehensive HR functions such as health benefits, compliance assistance, and hiring tools. In August of 2016 they announced $25 million Series B financing which was led by Institutional Venture Partners (IVP). Shortly after, justworks partnered with Silicon Valley Bank in order to provide budding technology companies access to financial services without having to be a bank customer. This partnership provides Justworks customers additional resources for managing cash flow needs when expanding their payrolls or increasing their workforce size. Today Justworks continues this mission of connecting employers with flexible benefits and efficient HR processes that suit the new world of work - where remote teams reign supreme and traditional 9-5 arrangements are being replaced with project-based collaborations from around the globe.
