Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center
Founded in 1975, the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center (FHCRC) is a world-renowned cancer research and treatment center based in Seattle, Washington. At FHCRC's core are three scientific divisions: Basic Sciences, Clinical Research and Public Health Sciences. The internationally recognized physicians and scientists of the Center are dedicated to eliminating cancer and related diseases as causes of human suffering and death by conducting research of the highest standards to improve prevention and treatment strategies for these diseases. Working together with its clinical care partner, Seattle Cancer Care Alliance (SCCA), FHCRC strives to develop better treatments that reduce side effects while increasing success rates and survival times among those affected by all types of cancer. Over its 45-year history, the Center has made significant contributions to our understanding of the biology behind cancer as well as developed numerous discoveries that have advanced basic science concepts into successful therapeutic treatments used throughout the world.
