Forest River, Inc., founded in 1996 by Peter Liegl, is a privately held manufacturer of recreational vehicles and cargo trailers. Liegl, who had previously worked for Coachmen Industries for 22 years, bought the assets of certain divisions of that company to start Forest River. The company currently operates 10 manufacturing facilities across six states, producing high-quality RVs and Cargo Trailers across all segments including Fifth Wheels, Pop Up/Expandable Trailers, Park Models, Travel Trailers, Toy Haulers and Class C Motorhomes. Additionally they manufacture buses as well as specialty vehicles such as mobile medical units and fire safety vehicles. With combined sales totaling over $3 Billion US Dollars in 2018 alone, Forest River has managed to become one of the largest manufacturers producing recreational vehicles worldwide.
