Flightsafety International Inc. is an American corporation founded in 1951 that provides aviation training and simulation for professional pilots and technicians. The company was initially established as Flight Safety Foundation, a non-profit organization devoted to advancing the quality of pilot and technician training, by renowned aviator Eddie Rickenbacker. In 1956, Flight Safety became a wholly-owned subsidiary of Textron Corporation and adopted its current name: Flightsafety International Inc. Throughout its history, Flightsafety has been dedicated to providing safe flight operations through comprehensive training programs utilizing the most advanced aircraft simulators and other advanced technology available. Today, Flightsafety operates 45 full flight simulators─known as the world’s most sophisticated─at 48 locations around the world with more than 3,500 highly trained professionals instructing over 85 different aircraft types from civil transport to military aircraft.
