Finish Line Inc is an American retail store specializing in athletic shoes, apparel, and accessories. Founded in 1976 by Alan Geller and David Klapper, the company began as a single store in a suburban shopping mall located outside of Indianapolis. The company has since expanded to over 950 stores located across 44 states, most notably including their presence inside Macy’s department stores. In addition to physical locations, Finish Line operates online e-commerce sites that serve both US and international customers. The company went public and began trading on the Nasdaq stock market in 1992 and today is traded under the ticker symbol FINL. Additionally, Finish Line was acquired by JD Sports Fashion Plc in December 2018 for $558 million USD. As of 2019, Finish Line Inc boasted 10,000 associates employed across all their locations throughout the US and annual revenues of just under two billion dollars.
