Fieldale Farms Corporation is a family-owned poultry processing company that has been in business since the mid-1970s. It began as a small hatchery in Fieldale, Georgia to provide chickens for local consumption. Today it produces more than 500 million pounds of chicken each year and employs over 4,000 people across its six locations in Georgia, Virginia and Tennessee. It processes several types of fresh products including whole birds, breast fillets, leg quarters and breaded items as well as cooked and ready-to-eat products such as sausage links, nuggets and tenders. The company also offers custom products for both retail and foodservice customers around the globe. Fieldale Farms was the first poultry plant to achieve certification under the Safe Quality Food (SQF) program from the Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI). They hold certifications with GAP Animal Welfare Audit Program (AWAP), Responsible Down Standard (RDS), Non-GMO Project Verified Program, National Chicken Council’s Chicken Checkoff program and various other audits for third party validation of their best practices for food safety.
