Energy Transfer Partners Gp, L.p.
ENERGY TRANSFER PARTNERS GP, L.P. (ETP) is an American publicly traded partnership based in Dallas, Texas and one of the largest energy transportation and storage companies in the United States. It was established in 1995 as a spin-off from ETP’s predecessor company Lone Star Technologies Inc., which had been founded in 1998 through the merger of two natural gas pipeline companies: Lone Star Gas Company and Transcontinental Gas Pipe Line Corporation. Initially operating primarily pipelines transporting natural gas, ETP has since grown to own nearly 71,000 miles of pipelines across the country that are used to transport crude oil, refined products, natural gas liquids (NGLs), and liquefied petroleum gas (LPG). In addition to its large network of pipelines, ETP owns or has interests in numerous other midstream assets including more than 15 million barrels of NGL storage capacity plus various gathering facilities for oil and NGL production across multiple states. As of 2020 it had a market capitalization exceeding $20 billion.
