Depaul University is a private Catholic university in Chicago, Illinois. Founded in 1898 by the Congregation of the Mission as St. Vincent's College, it was renamed DePaul University three years later when it moved to its current Lincoln Park campus and began offering courses on the post-secondary level. The university has since grown into one of the largest Catholic universities in the United States with over 24,000 students enrolled in nine academic colleges offering more than 300 undergraduate and graduate programs across over 75 majors. Depaul is also home to seven campuses across Chicago and its suburbs that host a variety of international students from around the world.
