Dean Health Systems, Inc. is an integrated health care system serving south-central Wisconsin and northern Illinois through a network of 170 locations and over 1,200 providers. Founded in Madison, Wisconsin in 1983, the company was initially developed to provide medical services to employees of Dean Foods, Inc., a well-known American food processing corporation. Over time, the scope of services provided by Dean Health Systems expanded from group practice to a full range of healthcare providers including outpatient care centers, urgent care facilities, occupational medicine sites, pharmacies and physical therapy clinics. In addition to its various clinic locations throughout Wisconsin and Illinois, the company also has two hospitals; one located in Fort Atkinson (Meriter Hospital) and one located in Baraboo (St Clare Hospital).
