Cott Holdings Inc. is a publically traded beverage manufacturing company headquartered in Tampa, Florida. Founded in 1923, the company originally operated as Cott Beverages and produced carbonated soft drinks for sale within North America. In 1997, Cott bought U.S.-based LaCrosse Beverages Co., which allowed it to gain control of major contracts with national food retailers such as Walmart and Kroger; this solidified its position as one of the leading providers of private label beverages by 2001. Following its acquisition of Cliffstar Corporation in 2007, Cott established itself globally as an industry leader and began producing non-carbonated beverages including energy drinks, bottled water, juices and organic teas for worldwide distribution.
