Cook Children’s Health Care System is a nonprofit healthcare organization that has been serving the people of North Texas for over 100 years. It was founded in 1918 by visionary Dr. Monroe M. Dodd, who had a mission to provide the best care possible to children regardless of their financial situation. Today, Cook Children’s consists of eight hospitals and more than 70 clinics across 16 counties in North Texas, providing quality comprehensive medical and health care to children from birth through young adulthood. Their services include primary pediatric specialty care, both inpatient and outpatient services such as critical/emergency care, surgical specialties, neonatal intensive care unit (NICU), cancer center, heart center, rehabilitation services , mental health therapies as well as other specialties such as neurodevelopmental evaluations diabetes management programs and nutrition therapy .
