City Of Hope
City of Hope is an independent biomedical research, treatment and education institution based in California. Founded in 1913, it has grown over the years to become a comprehensive cancer center as well as a global leader in bone marrow transplantation. It offers care to more than 700 new patients each year with various types of cancer, including breast, prostate, lung, gastrointestinal and blood cancers. In addition to its care services, City of Hope is also home to more than 800 active clinical trials that span many different types of ailments. With its research team composed of more than 900 scientists and physicians dedicated solely to treating life-threatening illnesses such as cancer and diabetes, the institution's cutting edge research has led to numerous treatments for serious diseases. It has saved countless lives through pioneering breakthroughs such as immunotherapy for cancer and gene therapy for HIV/AIDS patients.
