Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta is one of the largest pediatric healthcare providers in the United States. Established in 1998, Children’s opened as an eight-bed hospital by Dr. Emory Winship, who wanted to provide quality care for children with serious illnesses. Throughout their history, Children’s has grown exponentially to serve patients and families through a variety of care locations and programs throughout Georgia. This includes three main hospitals; Scottish Rite Hospital; Hughes Spalding Hospital; and Egleston Hospital; 27 neighborhood locations; urgent care centers; a research center; healthy hearts program; special needs network department; mobile health van services that provide access to healthcare regardless of location or economic status. The organization is consistently ranked among the top pediatric hospitals nationwide in several categories by U.S News & World Report and remains committed to providing dedicated pediatric care and advocating for all kids throughout Georgia.
