The Charleston Area Medical Center Health System, Inc. is a non-profit health system located in West Virginia and first established in 1974. It includes the Charleston Area Medical Center (CAMC), which serves as the flagship hospital, along with six community hospitals including CAMC Women and Children's Hospital, CAMC General Hospital, CAMC Memorial Hospital, Thomas Memorial Hospital, St. Francis Hospital, and Teays Valley Hospital. The overall mission of the organization is to provide quality healthcare services at an affordable cost to all its patients throughout West Virginia’s Kanawha Valley Region and surrounding areas while also advancing medical knowledge through research efforts. In addition to providing patient care services such as general medicine/surgery; family medicine; emergency services; surgery centers; cancer care; orthopedic care; women's health programs; imaging (MRI/CT); rehabilitation centers; home health services etc., it offers advanced technologies in neuroscience such as neurointerventional radiology for stroke treatment and other neurological diseases.
