ECedars Sinai Medical Center is a 958-bed hospital located in Los Angeles, California and part of the Cedars-Sinai Health System. Founded in 1902 as Kaspare Cohn Hospital by philanthropist Kaspare Cohn, it has evolved into one of the largest non-profit academic medical centers in the United States. It is affiliated with UCLA's David Geffen School of Medicine and provides specialty treatment for cancer, heart diseases, neurology, orthopedics, pediatrics and many other medical disciplines. ECedars Sinai was also among the first hospitals to treat HIV/AIDS patients during the early 1980s AIDS epidemic. In addition to providing top-notch patient care services, ECedars Sinai engages in pioneering research studies that have led to advances such as gene therapy treatments for Parkinson’s disease.
