Brunswick Corp
Brunswick Corporation is an American company that produces and sells recreational products, marine engines and parts, fitness machines and bowling and billiards equipment. It was founded in 1845 by John Moses Brunswick as J M Brunswick & Bro., which produced its first product - a maple-veneered billiard table. The name was changed to the J.M. Brunswick Manufacturing Company in 1860 when it also began producing indoor bowling alleys, pinsetters and other recreational equipment. In 1890 they were incorporated as the Brunswick-Balke-Collender Company (BB&C) when they expanded into manufacturing furniture, pianos and organs. By the turn of the century BB&C had become one of the largest producers of pool tables worldwide but started to diversify its product line further, adding outboard motors to its lineup in 1907. In 1960 they moved away from their focus on recreation alone to enter into defense contracts with the US government, ultimately selling off this division in 1980 before rebranding with its current name: Brunswick Corporation. Today, Brunswick's offerings span many categories including Marine Products & Services (motor boats and related parts as well as boatyard services), Life Fitness Products & Services (fitness systems plus digital platforms for tracking performance metrics), Bowling & Billiards Products & Services (supplies for organized leagues) as well commercial lighting fixtures for pools and golf courses along with a host of other innovative products for outdoor living spaces like fire pits or patio accessories.
