Bristol Bay Native Corporation
Bristol Bay Native Corporation (BBNC) is an Alaska Native regional corporation created pursuant to the Alaska Native Claims Settlement Act of 1971. BBNC was established to provide economic, social and cultural benefits for more than 8,000 Alaska Natives who reside in the Bristol Bay region, near Egegik. The company has worked since its inception in 1972 to protect the rights and resources of its shareholders while improving their quality of life through diversified investments that create jobs and generate revenue for future generations. BBNC currently owns and manages more than 548,000 acres of land within the Bristol Bay region as well as various business interests throughout major sectors including fishing, construction services, hospitality & tourism development and oil & gas services. They have also developed a wide range of programs for their shareholders such as education scholarships; community support; shareholder internship & employment programs; housing assistance; career counseling; tribal government contractual services; annual elder's benefit distributions and much more. Overall, BBNC strives to be a leader in promoting economic prosperity among its members while continuing to develop ways in which it can serve additional generations into the future.
