Briggs & Stratton Corp is a world leader in small engine manufacturing. Founded in 1908 by Stephen Foster Briggs and Harold M. Stratton, the company started off producing engines for automobiles before focusing its attention on smaller gasoline engines used primarily in garden equipment. Today, Briggs & Stratton manufactures engines ranging from 2 to 25 horsepower as well as generators, pressure washers, outdoor power products and lawn mowers through its various subsidiaries such as Snapper and Simplicity. In addition to these divisions, the company continues to provide engineering services along with designing and producing air cooled gasoline engines for original equipment manufacturers worldwide. With more than 110 years of history behind it and over 100 million engines built since 2009 alone—including 11 million last year alone—Briggs & Stratton remains committed to its core mission of providing reliable engine solutions that make life easier.
