Boehringer Ingelheim USA Corporation
Boehringer Ingelheim USA Corporation is the US-based subsidiary of Boehringer Ingelheim International, a global pharmaceutical company that is headquartered in Germany. Founded by imprisoned publisher and distiller Albert Boehringer in 1885, the company initially focused on producing yeast, malt and citric acid products for food production. However, in the early 1900s it began to focus on health and pharmaceutical products, ultimately becoming one of the top 20 pharmaceutical companies in Europe by World War II. In 1955 they opened their first US office in Ridgefield Connecticut with four employees. Since then they have grown their presence domestically with offices now located throughout the United States, as well as numerous manufacturing sites. Today Boehringer Ingelheim is one of the largest biopharmaceutical companies globally and remains committed to researching and developing new therapies for human and animal health around the world.
