Baylor College of Medicine
Baylor College of Medicine (BCM) is a private academic health science center located in Houston, Texas. BCM has been providing outstanding medical care and education since its inception in 1900 and is now one of the most highly regarded medical schools in the US. In 1903, it became affiliated with Baylor University as its Department of Medicine before becoming an independent organization in 1969. Since then, BCM has expanded significantly, now offering seven degree-granting programs including: Medical Science, Biomedical Sciences, Medical Humanities & Ethics; and Public Health Practice. It also houses several centers dedicated to conducting cutting-edge research into areas such as cancer biology/oncology, cardiology/vascular biology, genetics/genomics and neuroscience among others. Moreover, BCM boasts a network of more than 3000 full-time faculty members working closely with students enrolled across its various academic programs.
