Ball Corp
Ball Corporation is an American company that has its headquarters in Broomfield, Colorado and specializes in metal packaging for beverages, food and household products. Founded in 1880 in Buffalo New York by industrialist Frank Ball, the company initially supplied wooden-jacketed tin cans to local breweries. Throughout the early 20th century, Ball Corp greatly expanded its operations as it began working with government entities, providing them with containers for their supplies. In the 1960s, Ball Corp made a strategic acquisition of Reynolds Metals Company’s aluminum beverage container business which enabled it to become one of the largest beverage can makers in the United States. Currently, the company still manufactures metal cans and bottles for many different industries including brewing cola companies like Coca Cola and PepsiCo. It also provides aluminum aerosol packages for pharmaceuticals and chemicals as well as steel containers used by industrial manufacturers such as automotive lubricants, paints and cleaning materials. Apart from producing packaging products, Ball Corporation also produces aerospace components used on commercial aircrafts through its subsidiary Ball Aerospace & Technologies Corp.
