Aerojet Rocketdyne Holdings, Inc. is an American aerospace and defense contractor that was formed in 2013 through the merger of Aerojet and Rocketdyne. The company’s roots trace back to the 1940s, when General Tire & Rubber Company created Aerojet in 1942 as a subsidiary to develop liquid-fueled rocket engines and propulsion systems for the United States Army Air Corps. In the 1915, North American Aviation established Rocketdyne to design, develop and test liquid propellants used for missile propulsion systems. Since then, both companies have seen significant growth and continued success due to their stellar reputations within industries like aerospace engineering and defense contracting. Today, together they serve civil, military and commercial customers throughout America by providing products ranging from aircraft propulsion systems to hypersonic advancements.
