Founded in 1922 by Samuel Irving Newhouse Sr., it has grown to become one of the largest and most influential publishers of magazines and newspapers in the world, with ownership interests in more than 34 different publications. Its flagship titles include The New Yorker, Vogue, GQ, Vanity Fair, Self, Wired and Condé Nast Traveler. Advance Publications also owns a number of television stations across the country as well as numerous websites related to its print properties. In addition to its print media holdings, Advance Publications is involved in other businesses such as cable television networks and digital content distribution systems.
